VBE / SDVBE Certifications are a state-level and/or local-level registration depending on your location(s). VBE / SDVBE Certification is a registration designating your business at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a veteran.
The purpose is to provide veterans with a level playing field in government and corporate contracting.
The goal is to help veteran-owned businesses thrive and promote equality for veterans in contracting.

VBE / SDVBE Eligibility
Qualification Criteria:

At least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by one or more veterans who are U.S. citizens.

The top executive officer responsible for managing the daily operations must be a veteran and have experience in the business’s field of endeavor.

Veteran(s) must be honorably discharged and provide DD214 Certificate of Discharge.

Business must operate in the geographic area of the certifying agency. (may vary by location)

In addition to the above, the Veteran(s) must be certified service disabled by the V.A.

In the case that the service disabled veteran has a severe disability, the business can be managed by their spouse
FAQ's
To be considered a Veteran of the United States, you must be honorably discharged (DD214) and meet one of the following requirements:
Served on active duty with the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard.
Served as a Reservist or member of the National Guard and were called to federal active duty or disabled from a disease or injury that started or got worse in the line of duty.
